Caio Mario Garrubba is one of the great Italian photojournalists, he started taking pictures in 1953 during his trip to Franco's Spain. He espouses the cause of communism, which will often lead him to travel and photograph in the countries of the Soviet Bloc. He was called the photographer of communism, his reportages are children of the street and the long walks he took before taking a picture, in search of gazes, people's lives and everyday life. Garrubba has always been an independent photographer, he worked little on commission, he wanted to choose what to photograph.
