St. Augustine, seated in the center inside a large hall, welcomes and blesses a group of friars in brown robes kneeling in a sign of obedience in front of him, showing them the open book of the Rule placed on a pedestal. Behind his back, eight Augustinian friars in ceremonial vestments are depicted. To the left, at the top, beyond a rectangular window decorated with a shelf with capitals, a urban view composed of four buildings can be seen.
