It is a specimen of great value, embossed decorated in all its parts. The walnut wood case, sculpted in volutes in the lower part, has a butt in the shape of a flattened pear. The barrel is smooth, round, with two orders (hexagonal and round) and bears the signature in capital letters “LAZARINO COMINAZZO”. The signature on the barrel denounces the belonging to the Cominazzo manufacture, a great and famous Gardonese dynasty of masters of canes operating from the late sixteenth to the nineteenth century. The Cominazzo family did not manufacture rods, but they were exceptional 'levelers', producing specimens highly appreciated for their extraordinary qualities of thinness and strength, combined with the elegance of the external appearance.
