Needle lace in Point de Sedan made of fine linen thread. The decorations, consisting of rather large and elaborate motifs, are made with an infinite number of patterned stitches and are repeated, alternating, every 33 centimeters. From family documents it appears that the precious object, nicknamed "Pizzo Coronini", originally belonged to Olga Westphalen Fürstenberg and her sister Thérèse Adamovich, as it was part of the rich Russian inheritance they received in 1913 upon the death of their maternal uncle, Count Eduard Cassini. Between 1967 and 1969 Guglielmo and his sister Nicoletta, evidently aware of its great value, bought their share of the lace from the two cousins Ivan Adamovich and Wilhelmine Herberstein, heirs of the late Aunt Thérèse, in exchange for silverware and pieces of furniture. thus becoming its exclusive owners.
