Andrea Bolognino

1991, Napoli

Andrea Bolognino (Naples 1991). During his training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and the Künsthochschule Weissensee in Berlin, he has always shown interest in the intersection of different forms of expression, as demonstrated by the collective creation of the experimental music festival La Digestion (2016 - 2019), as well as in the case of multiple collaborations with the choreographer Adriano Bolognino, for whom he created sets and costumes for the Venice Dance Biennale (2020) and for the opening ceremony of the exhibition title at the Archaeological Museum of Naples. His artistic practice focuses on exploring an altered visual perception that oscillates between the recovery of lost gazes and the technological expansion of sight. In his latest solo exhibition "Observatory" (Acappella Gallery 2024), Bolognino experimented with the subject of still life, integrating it with the process of mapping and scientific observation. In 2023, he presented the exhibition "The Giants" at the ACAPPELLA Gallery, born from the interaction with the contemporary poet Nico Bleutge. In 2022, he exhibited his first solo exhibition "Blindness, Blinding, Outrage" at the Capodimonte Museum in Naples as part of the "Sensitive Encounters" project, where he was able to develop a project starting from the famous painting by Pieter Bruegel the Elder "The Parable of the Blind". He currently lives and works in Munich.
