Inaugurated in 2014, the Fondation Vincent Van Gogh in Arles is dedicated to the work and legacy of Vincent Van Gogh. Van Gogh, in fact, is a fundamental figure in 20th-century art, whose influence continues today among artists, managing to exert unprecedented magnetism on the public. It is in the fifteen months he spent in Arles, between February 1888 and May 1889, that Van Gogh produced some of his most appreciated masterpieces. The relationship to contemporary art is inscribed in the values of the Foundation, starting from its inauguration: its goal, in fact, is to generate and promote cultural and artistic activities in relation to the artistic figure of Van Gogh. Putting painting into perspective of the Dutch master with the work of contemporary artists is destined to give birth to a fertile dialogue, aimed at reflection and asking new questions.
