Located in the Logis Barrault, the oldest hotel Particulier in the city of Angers, the Musée des Beaux Arts d'Angers houses a collection of works of art acquired over the centuries on a total area of 7,000 m2. The rich collection consists of paintings, sculptures, art objects and a rich graphic collection, which chronologically trace the different artistic currents from the fourteenth to the twentieth century. There are also archaeological objects from the city of Angers and the surrounding area that testify in particular to the Gallo-Roman period. The collection of paintings contains works by artists such as Philippe de Champaigne, Lorenzo Lippi, Luca Giordano, Giambattista Tiepolo and several others. A large room in the museum is dedicated to 20th-century modern art, with works by artists such as Boudin, Sisley, Lebourg and Tremblay.
