The imposing Huis Willet-Holthuysen is a house museum in the center of Amsterdam . The house is named after the owners who lived there at the end of the 19th century: Abraham Willet and Louisa Holthuysen. It was they who started the collection with many works of art and objects. After Louisa Holthuysen 's death, the house and collection were donated to the city of Amsterdam, with the intention that it would become a museum. More than a hundred years later, the HuisWillet-Holthuysen can still be visited.
Huis Willet-Holthuysen has many period rooms. There are Neo-Louis XVI style lounges and the garden is designed as a French-style symmetrical garden.
