La maison de Jules Verne is a house museum in Amiens, where the famous French writer lived from 1882 to 1900. The museum is dedicated to the biography and literary work of the writer, who made over thirty novels in the house. This is a mid 19th century red brick building. Organized on four levels, from works and objects that belonged to Jules Verne or of his time, the house recreates the atmosphere of a bourgeois residence of the late nineteenth century. The life and history of the city of the time is retraced with the help of photographs, posters and writings of the author. The ground floor, largely preserved in its original aspect, sees the presence of the dining room, the winter garden, the large living room and the small lounge for smokers. On the first floor of the house were the personal rooms of the family. In their place, a Parisian library and the office of publisher Pierre Jules Hetzel were rebuilt.
