From 8 October to 9 February 2025
One hundred years after the birth of Enrico Baj, and in synergy with the homonymous anthology hosted at Palazzo Reale in Milan, the widest retrospective ever realized on Baj's ceramic work opens to the public, curated by Luca Bochicchio.
On the occasion of the one hundredth anniversary of the birth of Enrico Baj (Milan, October 31, 1924 - Vergiate, June 16, 2003), ironic, patafisic, irreverent, imaginative protagonist of European art of the twentieth century, from October 8, 2024 to February 9, 2025, the Museo della Ceramica di Savona and the MuDA - Museo Diffuso Albisola (in the venues of Casa Museo Jorn and Centro Esposizioni) host "BAJ. Baj chez Baj".
The exhibition presents about a hundred works, some of which have never been exhibited before, coming from the Enrico Baj Archive in Vergiate, from the collections of the museums of Savona and Albisola and from a restricted selection of private collectors, including the Marconi Foundation in Milan.
The layout is synchronous, based on the relationship between works created in different eras and with different techniques: terracottas, majolica and glazed earthenware indeed dialogue with lithographs, etchings, oils, acrylics, polymaterial collages and meccano sculptures.
