The Civic Museum of Santo Spirito is located in the historic center of the city of Agrigento. The Museum is located inside the monumental complex of Santo Spirito, the best known medieval monument left in the city. The exhibition itinerary develops in the cells of the monumental complex used as exhibition halls. The Museum houses an ethno-anthropological collection and an artistic section. The ethno-anthropological collection reflects the peasant civilization and traces the local traditions. Among the objects exhibited in this collection we find ancient toys, musical instruments, copies of temples, humble furnishings, primitive machines for spreading pasta, work tools and much more. The art section houses paintings from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century by local and Southern Italian artists.
