The show

A small but precious photographic exhibition dedicated to the Roman Valpolicella opens on Wednesday 21 December at the National Archaeological Museum of Verona, the result of a long planning process that has seen the collaboration of the Municipalities of Valpolicella with the peripheral structures of the Ministry of Culture, the Superintendency in the first place and the Veneto Regional Directorate of Museums, host of the event.

The photographic exhibition aims to make known, enhance and protect the cultural heritage, giving equal dignity and value to the whole territory and not only to the most striking sites of which Valpolicella still boasts some important archaeological examples at a national level.

The initiative, which in a certain way constitutes an anticipation of the next exhibition dedicated to the Roman age which will be set up at the National Archaeological Museum of Verona, was able to take place thanks to the commendable spirit of "consortium" of the administrations that make up this territorial area, united not only by the love for archeology, but more generally by the awareness of the importance of protecting the landscape, that composite fabric made up of churches, villas, rustic courtyards, agricultural plots and of the same archaeological evidence, both visible and invisible.

The exhibition will be open until 31 March 2023 during the museum's opening hours (Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10-18) included in the normal admission ticket.
