From 23 April to 27 November 2022
The European Cultural Center (ECC) is pleased to announce that the sixth edition of Personal Structures , the biennial exhibition of contemporary art that invites artists and creatives from all over the world to exhibit in Venice , will open from 23 April to 27 November 2022 , with press previews and opening events on 21 and 22 April in all ECC locations.
The exhibition will present a wide selection of works by emerging and internationally renowned artists, photographers and sculptors , as well as projects by academic institutions, which will be exhibited in the historic locations of Palazzo Bembo, Palazzo Mora and Giardini della Marinaressa, located in the heart of the Venetian city.
This year, the exhibition will revolve around the idea of reflections, 'reflections' , intended both as images created by a mirroring surface, and as thoughts and opinions deriving from meditation. The reflections in Personal Structures embody the double meaning, on the one hand, of visible episodes perceived by the eyes; and, on the other hand, of a mental act deriving from the action of pondering with the mind. According to the curatorial project, the act of reflection carries with it the potential to foresee the next possibilities and the responsibility to imagine a better future.
A selection of nearly 200 participants will gather in Venice at the Personal Structures - Reflections exhibition to present their point of view on the main theme of the exhibition through different media, giving voice to their thoughts, concerns, ideas, hopes and dreams. The reflections presented will be those of the awareness of what is to come, as well as the mirror of the current society that surrounds us.
