La Venaria Reale is organizing a major exhibition that investigates video games as a "tenth form of art" practiced by 3 billion people around the world, recognizing the profound impacts on contemporary society of a creative sector still often perceived as a world of playful and mere escapism. hobby. Video games represent a creative outpost where ideas and visions are born, a meta form of art in which architecture, painting, sculpture, music, performing arts, poetry, cinema, comics coexist, giving life to layered collective worlds.
Along the twelve rooms of the Sale delle Arti exhibition path, the digital canvases of the great masters of video games enter into dialogue with famous masterpieces of the past and present, inviting us to reflect on the new aesthetics, cultures, languages, politics and economies of the 21st century.
For the first time in the world it will be possible to admire the influences of the great masters of the past - such as De Chirico, Hokusai, Calder, Dorè, Savinio, Piranesi, Kandinsky, Warhol but also Hellenistic vases of the sixth century.
