The Bombas Gens Centre for Digital Arts, located in the Marxalenes neighborhood of Valencia, is a cutting-edge contemporary art center housed in a former Art Deco-style hydraulic pump factory dating back to the 1930s. Restored and inaugurated in 2017 by the Fundació Per Amor a l’Art, the complex combines industrial architecture, visual art, and technological innovation.
Spanning an area of approximately 6,200 m², the center dedicates over 2,500 m² to immersive and audiovisual projects that utilize technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, holography, artificial intelligence, and Europe's largest metaverse room. The collection includes over 1,500 works by more than 150 national and international artists, with a focus on photography, abstraction, and visual experimentation.
The site also preserves elements of historical heritage: an air-raid shelter from the Civil War, a medieval cellar, and a lush modernist garden of 1,147 m² designed according to urban green principles and embellished with a monumental sculpture by Cristina Iglesias.
