From 13 July to 10 October 2023
Religious, inclusive and sustainable tourism at the center of the “Via Francigena for All” project with the exhibition “On the way. The door of Turin: Shroud itineraries on the Via Francigena" scheduled at Palazzo Madama - Civic Museum of Ancient Art of Turin from 13 July to 10 October 2023.
It is a multidisciplinary and interactive journey, a real virtual journey that leads from history to the present with an open visit perspective, where the community and its territory become welcoming at 360 degrees.
It was created by the Civic Museum of Ancient Art and the Carlo Acutis Foundation, in collaboration with the Piedmont Region.
Enit supports the project that sees the Via Francigena at the center as one of the maximum expressions of the promotion of religious and inclusive tourism and as an opportunity to linger on one of the most important Italian paths: those that cross Piedmont with the exhibition/route that narrates the territory highlighting the historical and contemporary centrality of the region, home of the Holy Shroud and main access to the Peninsula along the pilgrimage on the Via Francigena.
Accompanying the itinerary is reflection on the theme of the pilgrim - the one who moves for material salvation, of body and spirit - and of the journey of the Saints of Charity from San Giovanni Bosco to San Giuseppe Cafasso to San Giuseppe Benedetto Cottolengo to blessed Piergiorgio Frassati and Carlo Acutis and proposes a series of encounters with the soul of the region through a visual study dedicated to its founding themes.
