The GAM of Turin dedicates to Edoardo Sanguineti – poet, director, novelist, screenwriter, translator, critic, playwright, actor, playwright, music writer, university professor, politician, refined intellectual and one of the major protagonists and interpreters of the contemporary world – a exhibition in the spaces of the Wunderkammer which brings together various works, including some portraits, which the artist friends had dedicated to the great poet. The celebration of his figure is placed within SanguiNetwork: portrait of the short century, a Project of Relevant National Interest promoted by the Edoardo Sanguineti Interuniversity Center of the Department of Humanistic Studies at the University of Turin .
The itinerary on display aims to reconstruct, through a selection of works from the rich private collection of Casa Sanguineti, the lasting bonds of friendship and the fertile collaborations of the poet and intellectual with some of the most famous contemporary artists. The relationship is fully revealed only by looking at the many pages that Sanguineti has dedicated to the world of art: for the author there is a deep relationship between images and the literary word, which reveals the face of the poet.
For Sanguineti «the historicity of language, for its very conceptuality, entails awareness. [...] Today, if wild painting and perhaps even wild music can exist, wild writing cannot be given». If sometimes it is the art that draws inspiration from his verses and prose, in other cases it is the writer who dedicates poems and critical pages to his artist friends. And again, if the poet's signature often appears at the bottom of the presentations of exhibition and exhibition catalogues, in other cases it is the artists who illustrate his poetic collections, confirming a dense intermediary dialogue and an incessant experimentalism which represent the characteristics foundations of Sanguinetian research.
