Until Sunday 11 July 2021, the Cappadocia exhibition is open at Ca 'Scarpa in Treviso (via Canova, 11, Treviso). The landscape in the womb of the rock, dedicated to the place chosen by the Carlo Scarpa International Prize for the Garden 2020-2021, Güllüdere and Kızılçukur: the Valley of Roses and the Red Valley in Cappadocia, organized by the Benetton Foundation and curated by Luigi Latini and Patrizia Boschiero .
The exhibition, with free admission, can be visited from Thursday to Sunday, from 3 to 7 pm . The exhibition itinerary is divided into four sections, corresponding to the different floors of the building. On the ground floor, the first section has as its theme the landscape of the valleys referring above all to the sense of their crossing, to the permanence of a traditional agriculture that coexists with the volcanic soil of the region.
The second section, on the first floor, deals with the geological nature of the place in relation to the different forms of rock settlement that characterize the present architectures, religious and civil buildings, which follow one another in space and time.
The third section, on the second floor, gives an account of the surprising pictorial heritage that distinguishes the interiors of churches and other buildings carved into the rock, of the work of the Mission of the University of Tuscia which has been engaged for decades on this front of research, restoration. and enhancement. The themes of the first three sections are told mainly by photographs and texts, while the fourth section consists of a cinematic narrative, with the screening of the documentary film Güllüdere and Kızılçukur: the Valley of the Roses and the Red Valley in Cappadocia, directed by Davide Gambino , with Gabriele Gismondi, conceived and produced by the Benetton Studi Ricerche Foundation as part of the activities of the Carlo Scarpa Award.
