Why do some birds have such long beaks? Why do some amphibians have brightly colored skin? Why do bird eggs have an oval shape? Open the 7 suitcases and discover the different strategies that animals have adopted to respond to changes.
The "Touch of Nature" exhibition tells the animal adaptation in an accessible way to all people with texts in simplified language and in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), tactile boards and with Braille writing, videos with
LIS translation (Italian Sign Language) and explanatory audio files.
Adaptation is a common phenomenon in all living organisms and in the history of life on Earth. It is the "survival response" through which, by the mechanism of mutation and selection, living matter reacts, over a long period of time, to broad environmental changes or to potential settlement in a new context.
Understanding the adaptation of living structures to the "changing world" means reflecting on the plasticity of organisms and understanding how the history of life on our planet is a continuous transformation.
