The show

A very rigorous program of waivers and closures and now - thanks to a vaccination campaign in full swing - the great Covid-19 pandemic finally seems to be under control.

Even museums, after months of closure, reopen to the public and can resume dialogue with their community of visitors. It is a dialogue that has never been interrupted, thanks to the many digital programs that museums have undertaken to produce in this long period of lockdown, but it is the physicality of the museum space that can now be recovered, the pleasure of aesthetic experiences and knowledge. still to be done in small groups, but in a physical and concrete dimension.

The MUSE - Science Museum, wanted to mark this new phase with an exhibition dedicated to Covid-19. With the light but direct language of the graphic novel, the exhibition traces the knowledge acquired by science and medicine during this apparently eternal period to achieve a control of the virus and a more responsible management and treatment of the disease. The exhibition - which will remain open until early September - was born from an idea of MUSE in collaboration with the scientific illustrator Sara Filippi Plotegher and is presented in an original and fresh graphic layout and with a non-didactic lexicon, which prefers the visual communication typical of contemporary science.

The alarm raised by the appearance of the first cases of Covid-19 has led, all over the world, many people of science, medicine and society as a whole to question themselves about this new "natural enemy" and to find the most effective solutions in a short time. to contain infections and prevent and treat the disease. The SARS-CoV-2 exhibition. Illustrated history of a virus therefore traces a picture of the scientific discoveries and progress made in the medical field, focusing on the fallout of the pandemic in the social and personal sphere and - finally - on the lessons that this dramatic epochal event brings with it.
