A traveling photo exhibition that addresses the theme of the retreat of alpine glaciers as a tangible effect of climate change.A journey that tells for the first time the alpine glacial heritage and the glaciological monitoring activities carried out in the Euregio area (Trentino, South Tyrol, and Tyrol). The heart of the exhibition consists of photographic comparisons documenting the retreat of glaciers over the past 160 years, with historical images juxtaposed with contemporary shots. In addition to photographs, the exhibition presents glaciological measurement tools and artifacts emerged from the melting of glaciers.
First conceived in 2019 by the Department of Civil Protection of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, it is being re-proposed on the occasion of the International Year of Glacier Conservation in an updated and enriched version thanks to the contributions of MUSE, Eurac, University of Innsbruck, and the Austrian Alpine Club.
The exhibition will be set up at MUSE - in Agorà and in the Gallery of Sustainability - and then will move to Bolzano and Innsbruck.
