The exhibition “2050: how do we get there? Sustainable mobility, cleaner, faster, safer and for everyone ”faces the challenges and choices related to the so-called ecological transition with a great goal: to reach 2050 with zero-emission mobility.
From daily mobility for work, visits to families and friends, tourism, up to the entire supply chain for shops and industrial production, mobility is a dimension that allows our social and economic life to unfold. Alongside these benefits there are obvious costs including greenhouse gas emissions, noise and water pollution, but also accidents, traffic congestion, loss of biodiversity, all of which have implications for our health and Welfare.
Greenhouse gas emissions related to the transport sector have grown over time and now represent a quarter of the entire climate-altering emissions in the EU. Due to this high proportion, the European Strategy has set the goal of their reduction of -55% by 2030 and the achievement of climate neutrality by 2050. Efforts in this direction are already evident and deserving to be known but the climate neutrality objective will only be achieved if policies to reduce the dependence of transport on fossil fuels are followed up without delay.
"2050: how do we get there?" it will therefore be a real journey through the new challenges and strategies concerning the theme of sustainable mobility, paying attention to the European, interregional and more local context.
