The Scppo Gallery is a contemporary exhibition space located in the heart of the Waldensian valleys, fifty kilometers from Turin. The Gallery has shaped its identity by drawing inspiration from the cultural vision of the artist and art critic Filippo Scecchini who created the contemporary art exhibitions for forty years (1949-1991), transforming Torre Pellice into an attractive pole for the emerging artistic researches of national scope. The heritage of the Civic Gallery of Torre Pellice today counts about five hundred works of contemporary Italian art of painting, sculpture, drawing, graphics and photography. The collection reflects the developments of the main trends that have confronted and succeeded each other, in particular on the Turin and Piedmontese art scene, from the second post-war period to the 1980s. Due to the importance of the authors and the range of attested artistic experiences, the Torre Pellice museum collection stands outside a provincial reality, placing itself in a context of national importance. Among the artists present we find Casorati, Gallizio, Garelli, Gribaudo, Griffa, Levi, Mastroianni, Merz, Mondino, Pistoletto, Ruggeri, Saroni, Scppo, Soffiantino, Spazzapan.
