closed Eva Marisaldi at the GAM for the day of contemporary AMACI

The show

The Contemporary Day, promoted by AMACI - Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums , is the event organized every year to bring the art of our time to the general public.

24 AMACI museums and 1000 realities throughout Italy for the fifteenth time open their spaces free to the public and officially inaugurate the contemporary art season in Italy on 12 October, with a program that every year gives the opportunity to experience this up close complex and lively world.

For the 2019 edition, all the AMACI associated museums will host a widespread and simultaneous exhibition by Eva Marisaldi , and in the spaces of the GAM ticket office the 2017 Uffici work will be exhibited and will be visible until 10 November.

The work, in plexiglass, contains “models taken from photographs of benches that we have taken, without a reason, but for a long time: we have taken many, in Japan, in Korea, in North Africa, in the United States ... here we have selected six, those that we believe had characteristics attributable to the place of origin. (…) The benches also tell a lot about cultures we don't know, I consider them study stations. The title is Offices, because we photographed the benches represented while traveling to other countries: you find yourself having to spend some waiting time, you have half a day free and you don't know what to do. Fortunately, there is some form of street furniture everywhere, which allows for example to stay in a park and consider it a temporary office. Great conversations don't necessarily take place, but it can happen. In any case, the local dynamics are observed ”. Eva Marisaldi

In addition to the work of Eva Marisaldi, the visit with free admission includes the permanent collections of the twentieth century and Painting Space Sculpture. Collezioni del Contemporaneo , together with the Paolo Icaro Antologia / Anthology 1964-2019 exhibition.
