From 20 September to 3 November 2024
The Autonomous Institute Villa Adriana and Villa d’Este - VILLÆ presents the second episode of the exhibition project ATELIER.IT: a viaticum in pictorial practices.
On display from September 20, 2024, in the Antiquarium of the Sanctuary of Hercules the Winner, the works of Simone Berti, Bea Bonafini, Cuoghi Corsello, Paolo Gonzato, Andrea Mastrovito, Edoardo Piermattei, Enrico Tealdi, Eva Chiara Trevisan, Vedovamazzei, and Serena Vestrucci aim to represent a survey on Italian painting carried out by Andrea Bruciati, Director of the Institute, and the artist Stefano Arienti.
The exhibition is the second appointment dedicated to the project - conceived and curated by Andrea Bruciati - which sees the curator accompanied each time by a renowned artist with whom to prepare a dialogical choice and curatorial form.
For the first appointment, Francesco De Grandi was involved, while for the second, the artist Stefano Arienti acts as co-curator in the selection of colleagues.
The dialogue between Bruciati and Arienti, in an authorial examination and precise survey of the current state of Italian painting, is like an itinerary to be followed and transforms into the exhibition of the ten works for the ten selected artists, to bring out a specific vision of what painting in Italy is today.
The project aims to enhance the most significant experiences within the continuous activity of the Institute aimed at exploring contemporaneity from an artistic perspective.
