The show

From 22 April to 31 December 2022, the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto - MARTA will welcome visitors with the temporary exhibition " Taras and the gifts of the sea ", the final moment of the FISH. & C. HIPS (Fisheries and Cultural Heritage, Identity, Participated Societies program ), funded under the Interreg VA Greece-Italy 2014-2020 program .


The exhibition "Taras and the gifts of the sea" will be inaugurated on Friday 22 April at 10.30 as part of a ceremony to be held in the Meeting Room of the MArTA.

The sea, the fishermen and their community of reference, the history, the production, manufacturing, artistic and craft plants, and the past, present and future relationship between all these elements.


After the institutional greetings from HE the Prefect of Taranto, Demetrio Martino, from the admiral of division and commander of the Southern Maritime Command, Salvatore Vitiello, from the delegated councilor for culture of the Puglia Region, Grazia Di Bari, from the delegated by the Rector of the University of Foggia, Professor Barbara De Serio, Professor of History of Pedagogy of the Department of Humanities, Letters, Cultural Heritage, Educational Sciences, of the National Superintendent for Underwater Cultural Heritage, Barbara Davidde Petriaggi, of the regional director of the Museums of Puglia , Luca Mercuri and the President of ConfCommercio Taranto-Imprese per l'Italia Taranto, Leonardo Giangrande, will follow the reports of the director of the Department of Tourism, Economics of Culture and Valorisation of the Territory of the Puglia Region, Aldo Patruno, of the head of the Special Territorial Cooperation Structure of the Puglia Region Giuseppe Rubino, of the JS of the Joint Secretariat of Fr. Interreg VA Greece-Italy rogram, Francesco Basile.
