On Saturday 7 October at 6.00 pm, as part of the 19th edition of Amaci Contemporary Art Day (Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums), in the historic Palazzo Pantaleo (18th century), the inaugurations of two contemporary art exhibitions will take place: the first, Monumental Elements, with installations by Giulio De Mitri, Laura Mega, Diego Repetto, Oliver Ressler, a collective exhibition curated by critics Lanfranco Aceti and Alessandro Melis (on the main floor of the building); the second, Whispers of Amnesia, an installation by Lanfranco Aceti, curated by the critic Artemis Potamianou (in the stables, on the ground floor of the building).

The exhibitions are an important preview of the fourth edition of the MAS WEEK - Festival of Architecture, Design and Contemporary Art. They were conceived by MAS-Modern Apulian Style, organized by the Ella Association with the contribution of the Municipality of Taranto and the collaboration of the CRAC Puglia (Contemporary Art Research Centre), of the Taranto Grand Tour, together with local and national institutions and associations.

MONUMENTAL ELEMENTS is the title of the collective exhibition dedicated to the theme of water which presents itself as a source of life and inspiration, a dynamic force that shapes landscapes, perceptions and social paradigms. Four well-known and established artists were invited to this exhibition: Giulio De Mitri, Laura Mega, Diego Repetto, Oliver Ressler, who have created significant works - as the curators write - which constitute "a moment of reflection between ethics, aesthetics and creativity, in the wake of water as an asset of inestimable value. Laura Mega's work redefines aquatic expressionism, capturing the transitory yet eternal nature of water through intricate textile narratives. Giulio De Mitri's installation acts as an archaeological intervention, bringing to light layers of consciousness and collective traditions. From the depths of the Mediterranean his work emerges, challenging conventional definitions of public art and inviting viewers to reconsider their surroundings.

Oliver Ressler's video installation addresses socio-political norms, immersing viewers in a contemplative experience. His work forces us to address urgent environmental concerns that often go unnoticed in our daily lives. Diego Repetto looks at the time of water, at what has already passed and what remains, explores the polluting nature of humanity and the accumulation of toxic substances in water over time."

Monumental Elements invites users to engage with the complexity of water and environmental awareness. The exhibition challenges us to reevaluate our relationship with water, question conventional artistic norms and explore alternative avenues for sparking social change.
