Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Palazzo Doebbing in Sutri the first edition of the Doebbing Photo Happening will be inaugurated.
The chosen theme is inspired by the Greek word "Pistis", which means "one who trusts", "who has faith", and becomes the starting point for an investigation on faith, surrendering to the gaze, and the evocative power of the image.
The exhibition invites you to take a geographical journey, from Africa to America and from Asia to Europe, to return to Italy, discovering spiritual places and what makes us "human" through the visual experiences of established photographers in the national and international scene: Silvia Alessi, Alessandra Baldoni, Jean-Marc Caimi and Valentina Piccinni, Barbara Di Maio, Stratos Kalafatis, Paolo Marchetti, David Marciano, Fausto Podavini and Alain Schroeder.
In a narrative that becomes a chorus on the private but also collective relationship with the sacred. Each with their own language, documentary, anthropological, poetic, conceptual, and personal, has made visible what inhabits silence: religious sentiment, prayer, hope, fear, life, and death. Without forgetting the times we live in, where religious belief is contaminated by new gestures and fetishes.
"Suggestions of faith" aims to tell stories, cultures, traditions, gestures, people. In a dialogue between art and spirituality, it shows the different souls of contemporary photography. The images do not seek answers, but raise questions, intimate, silent, necessary, about what it still means today to believe, to trust.
The program is realized with the support of the Municipality of Sutri, the collaboration of Archeoares and the Social Communication Area of FIAF (Italian Federation of Photographic Associations), born from the passion of the organizing committee. The event has the recognition FIAF Q27/2025.
