Ifa Gallery Stuttgart

The Ifa Galerie Stuttgart is one of the two locations of the Ifa Gallerien (the art section of the Ifa, Institut Für Auslandsbeziehungen, the oldest organization for exchange and intercultural relations in Germany). The Ifa Galleries, through the two locations in Stuttgart and Berlin, inaugurated respectively in 1971 and 1990, aim to show the visual arts, architecture and design of a globalized world, through the organization of numerous temporary exhibitions. The exhibitions want to offer an overview of the artistic scenes from all over the world. Furthermore, conversations, conferences, discussions and participation in international biennials allow visitors to have direct contact with artists and curators. In fact, the primary objective is to make it possible for people to meet, making them more involved in the arts and artistic concepts.

The exhibitions organized over the years have dealt with different themes: from the history of the Bauhaus to contemporary photography, from works of art examining conditions in postcolonial societies to works that offer an updated look at the potential of upcycling.
