The 1920s and 30s are associated with major innovations in photography. Numerous female and male photographers were searching for contemporary ways of representation in the years following the First World War, experimenting with double and multiple exposures as well as with photograms and collages. Over 200 original prints by leading representatives of the New Vision, New Objectivity, and Bauhaus movements were acquired for the State Gallery in spring 2022 with the support of the Museum Foundation of Baden-Württemberg from the Dietmar Siegert collection. Among them are photographs by Herbert Bayer, Aenne Biermann, Walker Evans, Florence Henri, Lotte Jacobi, Germaine Krull, Albert Renger-Patzsch, and August Sander. For the first time, we are presenting a comprehensive selection of these works at THE GÄLLERY.
