The MAD Museum is the museum of Mechanical Art and Design based in the center of the English city of Stratford upon Avon. Mechanical art means sculptures in motion and the pieces on display at MAD are by artists from all over the world. The site, extremely interactive, is particularly suitable for children but also for those who want to "free their inner inventor". In addition to lots of fun, the MAD Museum demonstrates inspiring creativity and clever, often witty design. Great support is given to the so-called STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) as well as Art and Design. Overall, the MAD Museum is a fantastic playground for adults and a perfect treasure trove for children to discover how the mechanisms of gears, cogwheels, robotics and various accessories work. There are several examples of kinetic art and automata to interact with: from marble machines and 3D faces to flying mechanical birds and sand images.
