Verulamium is a museum of everyday life in Roman Britain. It was built on the site of one of Britain's largest Roman cities. The collection is full of ancient treasures and some of the finest mosaics outside the Mediterranean. In the museum, the visitor can step back into the recreated Roman rooms and admire the craftsmanship of the intricate large-scale mosaics on display. The collection of 159 Roman gold coins is also kept here. The museum also offers a selection of free activity cards for kids and dress up dresses are available on weekends and school holidays. The remains of the Roman city can also be explored here in the Verulamium Park and directly outside the Roman Hypocaust museum, and the Roman Theater.
