The MURATS_Unico Regional Museum of Sardinian Textile Art is located in Samugheo on the outskirts of the town and was born from the desire to recover and preserve the historical textile memory of Sardinia. His activity is divided between the realization of temporary exhibitions, with projects dedicated to the Sardinian handicraft sector, and the permanent exhibition of his Collection which is composed of a substantial corpus of artifacts from different parts of the island. These are, blankets, sheets, baby linen, linen for daily use, saddlebags and towels for the countryside, clothing for the shepherd, traditional costumes for the holidays and tools including traditional wooden looms, equipment and various tools for weaving, Samughese garments of daily and festive clothing, precious eighteenth-century textile artifacts, handcrafted in wool, cotton and linen. Among the artefacts in the Museum's collection there are also those from the Cocco collection. Among its services, the Museum also offers a series of thematic workshops intended for schools of different levels.
