From the Gothic to Giovanni Bellini, from the Venetian Cinquecento to the theatricality of the Seicento to the most important Venetian painters of the Settecento. The rooms of the Pinacoteca dell’Accademia dei Concordi and the Seminario Vescovile inside Palazzo Roverella host an exhibition of paintings capable of offering an almost textbook-like overview of art history. An extraordinary journey that spans the masterpieces of seven centuries, in the city's most prestigious collection. All thanks to the passion for painting of some noble families from Rovigo who, with their donations, allow us today to admire a unique collection that includes some masterpieces by the greatest Italian painters such as Giovanni Bellini, Palma il Vecchio, Luca Giordano, Giambattista Piazzetta and Giambattista Tiepolo, up to the works of the first two decades of the twentieth century by the great artist of Rovigo origin, Mario Cavaglieri, which introduce us to a sophisticated, sensual, and decadent world that recalls D'Annunzio's atmospheres. The Pinacoteca can be visited for free in conjunction with the opening of Palazzo Roverella for important exhibition events that, starting from 2006, have contributed to making the palace one of the main cultural hubs on the national scene. Over the years, its rooms have hosted major painting exhibitions dedicated to masters of modern art, alongside prestigious photography exhibition projects, with exhibitions dedicated to some of the most important international names. Exhibitions conceived according to criteria of high scientific rigor, curated by scholars of recognized authority and accompanied by reference catalogs, which have established Palazzo Roverella as a place of excellence for historical-artistic research and as an essential reference point for major painting and photography exhibitions, capable of engaging with the permanent heritage of the Pinacoteca and with a wider audience.
