The Museum of Rome is located in Palazzo Braschi in the Renaissance heart of Rome, between Piazza Navona and Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. The Museum was originally located in the former Pastificio Pantanella in Piazza della Bocca della Verità, it was then transferred in 1952 to its current location in Palazzo Braschi. The first floor of the Museum of Rome is intended for temporary exhibitions, while the vast collection of about one hundred and twenty thousand works, is a rich testimony of the great transformation that from the seventeenth to the twentieth century affected the life of the city of Rome. The layout of the Museum of Rome is designed to accompany the visitor on a journey through time through the works that tell the festivals of Rome, between religious rituals and street games and the distinctive features of its monumental beauty.
