Magic Lantern Film Festival , in collaboration with the smART Foundation - pole for art , presents the second edition of Prime Time : a screening and events program, created for the first time in 2021, which intends to deepen the methods and different expressions through where the moving image is adopted by the poetics of some protagonists of emerging Italian art, with the aim of giving visibility to the imaginaries and methodologies of the artists and filmmakers involved.

Prime Time proposes to think about the rapid transformations to which the film medium is subjected, able to adapt to social and technological changes and at the same time able to shape its contents tirelessly.

During this second edition, three monographic focuses , each dedicated to an emerging artist who works with moving images , will take place from 24 October to 16 December in the halls of the smART-polo per arte Foundation .

Federica Di Pietrantonio opens the exhibition cycle, whose research focuses on the relationships and processes that take place within virtual realities, social platforms and gaming experiences. This will be followed by a selection of videos by the duo VEGA , composed by Tommaso Arnaldi and Francesca Pionato, who through their work explore the relationship between archive materials, stories, rituals, theories, languages and contemporary aesthetics in a cross between video art and speculative fiction. . Eleonora Luccarini will present works focused on the performative possibilities of language, activating a multidisciplinary relationship between word, image, body and artificial intelligence, which questions the boundaries between fiction, narration and reality.
