The  Fondazione Carla Fendi and  Mahler & LeWitt Studios host  The Centre for the Less Good Idea, a project curated by  Guy Robertson  (Curator and Co-Director, Mahler & LeWitt Studios) in collaboration with Spoleto68 Festival dei Due Mondi.

The program includes  residencies, workshops, events  including a  lecture  by William Kentridge, and the  exhibition  Unhappen Unhappen Unhappen – Pepper's Ghost Dioramas which will present  four animated dioramas created using the  Pepper's Ghost technique by  Anathi Conjwa, William Kentridge, Micca Manganye and  Sabine Theunissen.

Founded in 2016 by  William Kentridge and Bronwyn Lace in Johannesburg, South Africa, the Center  promotes collaborative and interdisciplinary projects, with a particular focus on supporting artists from the African continent . Their unique strategy is to encourage artists to pursue  "the less good idea" , that is, an idea that initially sits on the margins, as a result of a creative block or chance, but later allows for greater exploratory opportunities. The Centre for the Less Good Idea will share its philosophy  and methods in some workshops and meetings that include a practical introduction to Pepper's Ghost techniques , a live composition workshop with silent film archives , and conversations with the artists.

William Kentridge will also be awarded the Carla Fendi STEAM 2025 Award in recognition of his creative talent and valuable work in the social field both personally and with The Centre for the Less Good Idea .
