From May 28 to August 24, 2025, the third edition of the Festival of Foreign Academies and Cultural Institutes in Rome is scheduled, which this year is presented in the halls of the MACRO Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome. The project, curated by Saverio Verini, is promoted by the Department of Culture of Rome Capital and the Special Company Palaexpo, conceived, produced, and organized by the Special Company Palaexpo, realized with the collaboration of the Foreign Academies and Cultural Institutes in Rome.

The presence of Foreign Academies and Cultural Institutes represents a uniqueness of Rome's cultural scene. These institutions, through their residency programs, host visual artists, writers, composers, architects, choreographers, designers, historians, and researchers in various fields in the city every year; a community that meets and traverses Rome, creating a bond with its history and places, reinterpreting and reinterpreting them, intertwining human and cultural relationships. The Festival celebrates the connection with the Foreign Academies and Cultural Institutes in Rome, emphasizing the inexhaustible source of inspiration that the city represents for the scholars, reaffirming the international vocation of Rome and renewing the legacy of the Grand Tour, which for centuries has seen the Capital as the fundamental place for the completion of the cultural and personal education of generations of foreign intellectuals.

Conceived by the Special Company Palaexpo, the Festival of Foreign Academies and Cultural Institutes in Rome was inaugurated in 2023 with the exhibition Roma, a portrait curated by Cecilia Canziani with Francesca Campana and Giulia Gaibisso, the second edition, in 2024, entitled Expodemic, was curated by Lorenzo Benedetti with Francesca Campana.

Sublime cliché is the title of this third edition of the Festival, whose exhibition features the participation of artists who are currently in residence in Rome or have stayed there in the past.
