From October 19, 2024, at the Fontana Hall of the Palazzo Esposizioni Roma, the exhibition "Luigi Billi. Flashback works 1992-2015" opens promoted by the Department of Culture of Roma Capitale and by the Special Company Palaexpo.

Eight years after the sudden and premature death of Luigi Billi (Florence 1958 - Milan 2016), the exhibition, curated by Patrizia Mania and Nicoletta Billi, explores his artistic journey, revisiting its most significant stages.

Approximately fifty works are exhibited. From the initial "crumplings" (destined to become a recurring element) that rehabilitate, not without critically questioning it, the image of consumption into an artistic sign, to works where painting and photography overlap, gesture and material, and through which the artist has investigated the hidden structure of nature (Forest skies), the aporias of images (Dear mom, we are all fine. Dear dad, we are all dead, Heroes) or the impertinence of words (I forbade my father to call me son). Works capable of also revealing themselves openly political, manifesting, alongside the inexhaustible expressive research, an equally relentless ethical tension.

The exhibition will also provide the opportunity to present the new website of the Luigi Billi Archive, online at the address www.archivioluigibilli.it which aims to disseminate and promote his art and contribute to the definition of the general catalog of his works.
