The second moment of Connection Gallery, a project of the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art curated by Massimo Mininni, sees the participation of INVERNOMUTO, an artistic duo formed by Simone Bertuzzi and Simone Trabucchi. After the work of Andrea Mastrovito, the three-stage exhibition cycle launched in June continues with the intention of giving space to the work of young artists, selected for their ability to accord their creative expression to the museum and its peculiarities through the creation of a site-specific work.
The Mediterranean has long been the field of investigation of INVERNOMUTO and the intervention in the Gallery entitled "Prima delle Sabbie" represents a new point of arrival, fully contextualized within the museum. The work returns a completely unprecedented narrative of the Mediterranean, when it is assigned a perspective whereby from an extended sea surface it becomes a "protean" subject, a river with several mouths, where the coordinates of the North are no longer traceable and of the South but the sea is in reciprocal communication with the territory: the installation of INVERNOMUTO involves the work Fiume con foce tripla (1967) by Pino Pascali, an important presence in the Gallery's collection.
