From 31 January to 15 March 2025
On Thursday, January 30, 2025, the Fondazione Pastificio Cerere presents THE PROMISE OF EMPTINESS, a solo exhibition by Giovanni Termini curated by Simone Ciglia.
The exhibition will be open to the public from Friday, January 31 to Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Termini's research explores the relationship between materials and space and formally presents itself with installations capable of challenging balances, tensions, and forces. His poetics are inspired by an imaginary close to the context of construction, factories, and construction sites. Using innocent pipes, railings, platforms, stairs, concrete guardrails, and structures for carpentry, he makes ambiguous what is common and alters the perception of exhibition spaces. The works reuse and rework objects taken from reality, and his work firmly situated in a space that projects into the temporal dimension, open to the process that dictates its materials, feeds - as the artist himself declares - "precisely on the conflicts he seeks, in vain, to appease."
For his solo exhibition at the Fondazione Pastificio Cerere, Giovanni Termini aims to reflect on the relationship with the city of Rome. The exhibition presents a series of unpublished works conceived for the occasion along with a selection of recent works.
