From 30 January to 16 March 2018
With “Only stuff for children”, Giovanni Albanese transforms Fondazione VOLUME! on the stage on which a series of mechanical characters move, the result of ten years of work.
Albanese presents his automatons to the public, created through the assembly of recycled materials: these are perfectly characterized elements, endowed with a life of their own, with personalities that distinguish them and explanatory names, such as One who makes holes in the water, Vote for Antonio, Cecchino and…
The space in its morphology presents itself as the perfect container for this surreal population. A mixture of lights, shadows, sudden movements and mechanical sounds immerses the viewer in a playful atmosphere that harks back to a childhood lost for many, but which in this context has the possibility of being revived.
