On Wednesday 7 June, the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in collaboration with the Franco Vimercati Archive and the Raffaella Cortese Gallery inaugurates the first major exhibition in Rome dedicated to Franco Vimercati, one of the most significant photographic artists of his generation, creator of a unique visual language, of great aesthetic and conceptual research. The curatorship entrusted to Susan Bright and the critical text written by the art historian Doris Von Drathen have allowed for an unprecedented interpretation of Franco Vimercati's work, studied in depth by two contemporary female voices.
T he exhibition project will be accompanied by a catalog published by Tlon, with texts by Doris Von Drathen and Saretto Cincinelli, introduced by a preface by Susan Bright.
