Of Acrobats and other stories. Photographs from the Driving Energy Award is a compendium, a synthetic collection from the exhibition of the Driving Energy Award 2022 - Contemporary Photography, to which is added on this occasion an in-depth study on Paolo Ventura - winner of the Award - and on the profoundly narrative character of his work and his research.

The complete exhibition was held at Palazzo delle Esposizioni from 15 to 27 November 2022 and presented the works of the 40 finalist photographers of the Award, whose theme, Cameras on driving energy, is the artistic interpretation of the company's mission. The photographers had shown their point of view on the subject, talking about themselves, their vision of the world, their feelings; an individuality flanked by past and memory, since each work of art is made up of technique, style, but also personal and collective history.

From 20 December to 29 January the Palazzo delle Esposizioni once again exhibits in the Sala Fontana the works of: Paolo Ventura (Senior Winner), Gaia Renis (Youth Winner), Andrea Botto (most voted work by Terna employees), Mohamed Keita ( Winner of the special mention Normalità contemporanea) and Eva Frapiccini (winner of the special mention Circolarità. Corsi e appeali); as well as photographs by: Fabio Barile, Alessandro Dandini, Leonardo Magrelli, Raffaela Mariniello, Daniele Molajoli, Luca Nostri, Margherita Nuti, Flavio Scollo.

The exhibition then extends beyond the Sala Fontana, in the library of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni. Here Paolo Ventura presents his well-known, Award-winning series, I Ginestra, whose visionary setting is animated by acrobats who move with skill and elegance. In these images, the reference to the painting of twentieth-century masters such as Sironi and Donghi echoes, in a complex journey made up of historical research, craftsmanship, dexterity, scenographic composition, photography and painting.

There is also a selection of further works, drawings, posters, books, dioramas, which tell the world imagined by Ventura between narration and game, dream and truth. Indeed, in his enchanting works, the Real is constantly reinvented through the prism of the imagination and translated into a dreamlike dimension, into a new story. Paolo Ventura suggests distant and enigmatic worlds to us, creates fantastic and real visions, recording the convulsions and anomalies of our time in a mythopoetic dimension.
