“Signs and Forms” is Carla Accardi's speech for the VOLUME! Foundation.

The artist's reasoning focuses on a reformulation of the conventional idea of artistic gesture and on the rethinking of the traditional relationship between painting and space. The operation consists in the preparation of eight rough canvases with irregular shapes and bright colours.

Here then we find ourselves faced with an explosion of colors and shapes in their purest sense, as Accardi's intention is to simplify the bond that is created between work and public, emptying his production of any ideological-philosophical meaning and thus making it capable of stimulating the sincere imagination of the observer.

Entering VOLUME! we access a still undefined world that can be rethought, devoid of conventions and superstructures, where the artist accompanies us and through his narration invites us to be simple and direct, less adults and more children.
