From 23 March to 24 April 2000
Bassiri creates VOLUME! Foundation a linear and orderly atmosphere which takes the name of “Erme”.
The artist reports his symbols: the Shield, the Herms and the Sword. The Shield, made with graphite, iron and lava stone, fills the walls of the first room. Following this, an army of eighteen Herms stands out with silent grandeur and exemplary rigor in the spaces of the foundation, which, for the occasion, was plastered with white paint for the walls in contrast with the intense blue floors. In the last environment a completely different situation is created compared to the previous ones; here the atmosphere is made warm, welcoming and bright through the use of yellow paint which seems to reflect the light of the sword placed in the center on a pedestal.
The magmatism of the materials is the common thread that links the entire journey, a daring experiment with refined results.
