From 9 November to 22 December 2023
To celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the Atelier Martenot in Rome , the Museum of Classical Art in the Faculty of Letters of Sapienza will host a large exhibition of the works of the students who followed the courses of Loris Liberatori's École d'Art Martenot , the first and the only teacher in the capital authorized to use the method developed by the French educational psychologist Ginette Martenot in the 1930s.
The exhibition, which can be visited from 9 November to 22 December , entitled "IN SEARCH OF BEAUTY" will be a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the innovative world of Martenot psychopedagogy , an art didactic that educates the gaze to seek beauty outside and inside the person . Over 100 works , created by Loris Liberatori's students, will be presented to the public, offering an overview of the creative abilities that the Martenot Method has inspired in a new generation of artists . Visitors will be able to admire a variety of styles and techniques, testimony to the versatility and expressive power of this method, in dialogue with the over 1200 plaster casts of the masterpieces of Greek and Roman sculpture hosted by the Sapienza Gipsoteca, an extraordinary "Museum of Museums ” which collects vintage copies of masterpieces exhibited in the major museums of the world. Furthermore, the public will have the opportunity to admire the works created based on the progression proposed by the method of the École d'Art Martenot in an educational section specifically designed for the rooms of Museum together with videos and didactic and illustrative panels.
