From 11 June to 9 October 2022, the Centro Pecci in Prato presents a selection of original works and archival documents to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Galleria Schema (1972 - 1994), an original research space for national and international neo-avant-gardes in Florence , on the centenary of the birth of its founder , the artist Alberto Moretti (Carmignano, Prato, 1922 - 2012). This is the first museum exhibition entirely dedicated to the experimental activity of the Galleria Schema and, at the same time, to the conceptual, anthropological and political work elaborated by Alberto Moretti .

The exhibition project follows the recent exhibitions dedicated to museum collections of radical architecture , of which Galleria Schema was one of the promoters in Italy; also reconnects to the presence of the Archive of Mario Mariotti , an artist who has exhibited several times in the gallery, and to the recent acquisition of the Archive of Lara-Vinca Masini , a militant critic attentive to independent artistic experiences such as that of Schema, as well as a friend and partner of Alberto Moretti for over half a century.

In conjunction with the exhibition, a study day will be organized on the activity of the Galleria Schema and the contemporary artistic practice of Alberto Moretti , with historical testimonies and new critical contributions. The documentation of the exhibition and of the study day will merge into a monographic publication , the first investigation completely dedicated to the experience of Schema and the research of its founder.

Founded by the artist Alberto Moretti together with Roberto Cesaroni Venanzi and Raul Ernesto Dominguez, the Galleria Schema was inaugurated in Florence in February 1972 with an anthological exhibition by the Superstudio group of radical architects, who also designed the layout of the exhibition space located in via of the New Vineyard.
