From 27 March to 24 July 2022 the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art in Prato presents The Garden of Art. Works, collections, first exhibition curated by the new director Stefano Collicelli Cagol, a path that winds through the ten rooms of the historic wing of the museum among works created by Italian and international artists and artists of different generations.

The title of the exhibition evokes the image of the museum and the garden, intended not only as places dedicated to care and refreshment but also as spaces of wonder where you can immerse yourself in beauty in all its forms. it underlines the role of art as an essential element for a community, and responds to the need to deal with forms and imaginaries born in the most complex historical moments.

The art garden is populated by works from the Centro Pecci collection and from private collections - collecting itself is an "act of care" for the most disparate objects and ideas - alongside works by a group of emerging artists and artists .

From the works of Alberto Savinio, Osvaldo Licini, Alighiero Boetti and Alberto Burri, to contemporary artists such as Nan Goldin, Monica Bonvicini, Roni Horn and Marisa Merz, The garden of art. Works, collections presents and makes accessible to the public, in the spaces of the Center, works of absolute museum quality, bringing the institution's attention back to collecting, a theme that will be further emphasized by the future refurbishment project of the permanent collection.
