Portsmouth D-Day tells the story of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. Inside the museum are included over 10,000 objects that are shown to the public through exhibitions, workshops and other activities. The museum, like all those in the same city, aims to reflect the diversity of culture and communities by providing an opportunity for inspiration and knowledge to people. D-Day Story is a historical museum focused on liberating Europe from the occupation of Nazi Germany. The facts are told through the personal possessions and words of the people who took part in them. Collected here are stunning images, audiovisual presentations, authentic vehicles and hands-on interactive help bring the story to life. The D-Day Story presents the experiences of men, women and children. The museum is divided into four parts: Landing Craft Tank LCT 7074; Preparation; D-Day and the Battle of Normandy; Legacy and Overlord embroidery.
